Privacy Policy
The short version: no accounts or sign-ups, and we do not ask for your name, email, contacts, or precise location. Saves live primarily on your device. We use limited gameplay analytics to improve the games. In the iOS app, Google Firebase measures app usage and Google AdMob serves banner and optional rewarded ads under your privacy choices. Purchases are processed by Apple. We do not sell your personal information.
Who we are
Jelly48 and Jellygon are independent games built by a small studio. Questions about this policy or your data: hello@jelly48.com.
Data that stays on your device
Game progress (your board, score, and best score) and settings (like volume) are stored locally — browser storage on the web, app storage on iOS. The save file itself is not sent to us, although limited gameplay results are included in the analytics described below. On iOS, your best score, lifetime stars, and unlocked appearance packs sync through your personal iCloud account so they follow you across devices. That sync is between your device and Apple; we never see it.
Gameplay analytics
To tune difficulty and find bugs, both games send a small number of events to our own server: session summaries, game-over results, performance counters, and coarse context such as platform, device class, and app version. These first-party events contain no user, advertising, or persistent device identifier. Our server discards connection metadata and retains raw events for about 90 days, after which only aggregate statistics remain.
The Jellygon iOS app also uses Google Analytics for Firebase. Firebase records app lifecycle and interaction events, including game-over, appearance, shake-flow, advertising, and purchase events. Firebase assigns a pseudonymous app-instance identifier and may process device/app information, approximate location derived from a masked IP address, and verified StoreKit product details. We do not set a user ID or send your name, email, game save, or precise location to Firebase. Google describes this processing in Analytics data collection.
Advertising (Jellygon iOS app only)
The Jellygon app shows banner ads and user-requested rewarded ads served by Google AdMob. Google may process device information (such as advertising identifiers, IP address, and coarse ad-interaction data) to serve and measure ads, as described in Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses data from partners.
- Your consent controls this. Where GDPR applies, a consent form is shown before any ad is served, and you can revisit your choices any time via PRIVACY in the game's pause menu. On iOS, the App Tracking Transparency prompt additionally controls access to the advertising identifier — declining it means ads are served without cross-app tracking.
- You can remove ads entirely with a one-time purchase, after which the app makes no AdMob ad requests. Firebase Analytics may continue under the analytics privacy choice described above.
- The web game at jelly48.com shows no ads.
Purchases
In-app purchases (such as Remove Ads) are processed by Apple through your Apple ID. The app receives a verified transaction result and Firebase Analytics receives product details such as product ID, name, and price for purchase reporting. We never receive your payment details, name, or Apple ID.
Service providers
- Cloudflare — hosts the website and receives the anonymous statistics described above.
- Google (Firebase Analytics and AdMob) — app analytics and ad serving in the iOS app, under the applicable consent choices.
- Apple — purchases, iCloud sync, and standard opt-in App Store analytics.
Children
The games are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly request names, contact details, or other account information from children. Google and Apple process the limited app, advertising, analytics, and purchase information described above under their respective policies and the applicable consent choices.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (GDPR, CCPA, and similar laws), you may have rights to access, delete, or object to processing of personal data. Contact us at hello@jelly48.com with a request or question and we'll help. Our first-party events have no persistent identifier, and Jellygon has no accounts, so we usually cannot associate an email request with a particular event or Firebase app-instance identifier. For data processed by Google or Apple, their privacy pages above describe the available controls.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we'll update this page and the effective date above. The current version always lives at jelly48.com/privacy.
